Richard WAGNER - Die Walküre-.-
Produktbeskrivelse
Not since the so-called `100 Year Ring´ (Bayreuth, 1976-1980) has a performance of Richard Wagner’s monumental cycle created such a sensation as the Stuttgart productions of 2002. For the first time in the history of The Ring cycle, each of its four sections was given to a different stage-director, providing an exciting range of varying perspectives with a unified theme. The four individual productions, which afterward could be seen as integral parts of the cycle, garnered the praise of international critics. The production was directed by the `psychoanalyst´ Christoph Nel. Nel chose to reveal Wagner’s characters, their ambivalences and their conflicts, using contemporary settings, situations and gestures. - `Never before has Wotan’s farewell been so desolate, oscillating between incestuous affection and horrid torment… the whole time Nel tracks down the driving force behind Wagner’s work…´ (Die Zeit). - `There can be nothing but praise for Angela Denoke’s debut as Sieglinde, she seems to have taken up Rysanek’s mantle…´ (Opera News).Technical information Directed for Stage by Christoph Nel / Stage and Costumes by Karl Kneidl / Picture Format NTSC • 169 anamorphic / Sound Formats PCM Stereo • Dolby Digital 5.1 • DTS 5.1 / Region Code 0 / Subtitles German, English, French, Italian, Spanish / Booklet Notes English, German, French / Running Time 229 mins
